Biography
30 August 1988, Kyiv, Ukraine Oleksiy Zaitsev is an Ukrainian artist, graphic designer, organizer of art festivals. Born and raised in Kiev. He was educated at the department of graphics of Kyiv Polytechnic University and the department of graphic design of National Aviation University. Zaitsev is engaged with intermedia art, where performance art is a key practice and basis for artistic and social research. In his work he is interested in social, socio-political issues. His art pieces are often interactive and require the active participation of the audience to create a joint action. Oleksiy is an organizer and curator of the "Carbonarium'' international performance art festival, which takes place in Kyiv since 2018; He is the recipient of the "Gaude Polonia 2020" scholarship program, "I-portunus" international mobility grant, "Culture Bridges" mobility grant. Participant of Ukrainian and foreign festivals: "Supermarket independent art fair" in Stockholm, "PAO" in Oslo, "Performance Crossings" in Prague, "Gogolfest", "Kyiv Art Week" and others.
